Egidio Antonaccio is a realistic impressionist whose paintings
express his love of |
nature. Most of his paintings are of gardens and paths; some
are simple, some elaborate |
but we always see multi-colored flowers of spring, summer or
fall in his work. |
Born
in Castelluccio, Italy in 1954, he graduated from the Institute of
Fine Art |
in 1973 in Castrovillari, Italy. Then in 1978, he
graduated with honors from the |
academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, and later came to the
United States where he |
has developed a following of collectors. |
His technique is light and delicate and his themes are romantic
and gentle; each |
painting evokes feelings of strength, grace and wonderment.
He has always been and |
continues to be open to new influences in his painting.
The manipulation of light from |
the impressionist school, the landscapes of the Blue Ridge
Mountains, and the view that |
he sees outside his garden window all influence his work.
But whatever his intention or |
message to the viewer, each artwork comes from the heart of
Antonaccio, his legacy to |
this generation and those yet to follow. |
