Full Job Description

The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day operation of the center. The Assistant Director reports to the Center Director.

Experience/Education:

* Has minimum of 2 years’ experience as Assistant Center Director, or 2 years’ experience as Curriculum Coordinator, or 3 years’ experience as Lead Teacher in licensed child care center.

* Already has, or is working to meet the Texas state requirements for a state license.

* Maintains CPR and First Aid

* Certificate (CDA) or Degree in early childhood or primary education is a preference

* Evidence of leadership or management in past employment

* Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, and procedures

* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech

* Computer Skills

Specific Duties:

* Supports ICC School policies, procedures and systems to ensure safe, healthy environment in compliance with company and State Standards at all times. Specific procedures of critical compliance are but not limited to: release procedures, sign in and out, medication, and field trip procedures.

* Participates responsibly in marketing and special events including open house, trainings, parent meetings, staff meetings and corporate events.

* Effects and supports change required for continual compliance and improvement.

* Recruits, hires, orients, trains, supervises, observes and evaluates staff along with Center Director.

* Manages, supports and follows budget in compliance with ICC School Board guidelines.

* Represents ICC School to public, community, parents, visitors and staff with professionalism and integrity.

* Attends meetings and trainings as directed.

* Consistently follows through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in competent and timely manner.

* Assumes major responsibility for staff schedule, labor budget and staff files.

* Wise productive use of time.

* Follows through with all assigned duties and additional duties as assigned.

* Able to accept and handle change.

* Receives instruction and direction in appropriate manner.

* Able to work flexible hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

* Professional presentation and attitude.

* Ability to communicate with, motivate others, analyze and solve problems, fostering a positive work environment.

* Effective leader and role model at the center.

* Ability to exercise appropriate, independent judgment calls.

* Knowledge of state and local standards.

* Knowledge of early child development and appropriate practices.

* Ability to ensure safe, loving, learning environment for children.

* Counseling and behavior management skills required.

* Strong effective, interpersonal skills

* Participates in activities of professional and personal growth

Job Type: Full-time
