The Person |
|
Sagittarians love challenges of all kinds – physical or
mental – and throw themselves into intellectual or
physical pursuits with boundless and infectious reserves
of energy. Sagittarians’ interests in both purely
intellectual pursuits and highly physical adventure
underscore their versatile natures and are clearly related
to the dual nature of the Archer who symbolizes the sign
and who represents the centaur Chiron – a half-man,
half-horse god who was famed for wisdom and bravery.
Sagittarians are often unabashedly optimistic extroverts
who draw the admiration and affection all those they
encounter.
You are
enormously versatile, to the point that you really should
try to control the impulse to be good at everything.
Otherwise, life may be full of half-achieved objectives. |

|
Love |
|
A lot of
energy is needed to keep op with a Sagittarian lover: you
are passionate, versatile, and experimental. All this
makes for a lot of fun, but it is not for someone who
likes a placid, steady, slightly dull life. You’re highly
susceptible to the “call” of love and sex when you are
young, and you will find it very easy to be knocked
sideways by a beautiful girl or handsome boy. You won’t be
slow in coming on to them, either. In fact, you’ll express
your love with an exuberant sexiness that should knock
them sideways, too. When you are a little older, you’ll
recognize the quieter pleasures of conversation and
companionship, and you’ll find it easy to express your
love satisfactorily within a permanent relationship.
However,
your partner may sometimes feel that you don’t take the
relationship very seriously. Indeed, your need to express
your versatility may lead you “astray” from time to time.
In fact, your partnership, while not necessarily “open,”
must be a little elastic. Any hint of claustrophobia will
be killing to a Sagittarian – as will any suspicion of
jealousy. You just don’t understand jealousy at all, and a
jealous partner will infuriate and anger you. Remember
that your partner may not have the same approach to love
and sex as you do. So watch it!
But the
fact that you are occasionally rather casual about your
love doesn’t mean that you can’t love steadily and long.
Your partner simply needs to learn that this is just a
part of your characteristic freewheeling. |

Career |
|
Sagittarians are very keen on being able to see the road
ahead and anticipate any difficulties that may lie along
the way. You also need to be able to do things your own
way. Any job that involves travel should suit you. You’ll
be able to get out and about and avoid dull hours at a
desk. You may have a natural flair for languages, and
you’re good at planning – whether for yourself or other
people. You’re good with general details, too, but a grasp
of fine detail may sometimes elude you – or you may get a
little careless.
Many
astrologers suggest that Sagittarians are the natural
athletes of the zodiac, and it is true that your
determination can fuel success in that area. You’re good
at selling, as well, and work as a salesperson –
especially if it involves travel – may be enjoyable and
successful. The challenge of competition will be good for
you.
In other
words, you need freedom of expression on the job. And you
also need challenge. If you do find yourself in a rather
dull job, set yourself unthinkably high goals and fight
your way toward them. Even if you don’t achieve them. Even
if you don’t achieve them, the fight itself will do you
good! |

Money |
|
Sagittarians are
the luckiest people around. Your ruler, Jupiter, is the
great benefactor of the Zodiac, so Archers rarely lack the
necessities of life. Your sign knows how to blend your
natural luck and wisdom to create a comfortable nest egg.
Optimistic and
generous to a fault, you'd give all your money away if it
weren't for the influence of Saturn, the disciplinarian of
the Zodiac. Working through practical earthy Capricorn, it
encourages you to curb impulse purchases, comparison shop,
and then only buy what you need. It also motivates you to
save and invest.
The other planets
that affect your finances are the Moon, which guides your
involvement with other people's money through watery
Cancer, and Mars, which governs your investments and
speculation through fiery Aries.
If you're going to
bet on something risky, make sure it's a calculated risk.
There's not reason not to gamble when you can afford it,
but keep your wagers within reasonable bounds. |

Health, Diet, and
Exercise |
|
Exercise
is probably more important for a Sagittarian than for nay
other sign. If you don’t get it, your whole system tends
to get heavy and dull – and depression may build up. The
hips and thighs are the key Sagittarian body areas, and
the connection with weight gain will be obvious to woman
reader, if not to men! An exercise routine, again, is the
answer, coupled with a sensible diet. Sad, because you
certainly enjoy your food – and drink. The latter
indulgence can be especially unhealthy, when taken to
excess, because a key Sagittarian body organ is the liver.
If a strict diet does become necessary, think of it as a
challenge. You love a challenge and are good at facing one
head on.
It’s also
idea for you to try to include energy-building, high
protein foods in your diet. But keep an eye on your sweet
tooth! Sure, sugar builds energy- but also builds fat!
Junk food is particularly bad for you, but citrus fruits,
especially grapefruit, are wonderfully good! And take
plenty of supplemental vitamin C.
The thing
to do is find an exercise routine that really appeals to
you, so that you’ll be happy to devote time and energy to
it. Ideally, join a really good gym, where it’ll be
impossible to get bored. You can swoop from one class to
another, one exercise machine to another. Change your
workout regimen from season to season – Nautilus machine
in the fall to free-weights in the spring. And switch
sports with the weather – basketball to tennis to
swimming. |

|
Leisure and Retirement |
|
Challenge
will be as important in hobbies and leisure activities as
it is in work, so try to achieve a balance between the
separate demands of work and spare time. If your work
mainly involves intellectual efforts, your hobbies should
include physical activity – and vice versa. You have a
naturally adventurous spirit, and hobbies such as rock
climbing and paragliding should appeal to you. Travel may
be attractive, too. And if you can’t travel, reading
travel books will fascinate you. You’re often described as
the hunter of the zodiac, and this can apply to any type
of “hunting,” whether for antiques or for rare
collectibles.
You may
well go on educating yourself into extreme old age. Adult
education classes of all kinds appeal to you, and you’ll
work at them consistently and enthusiastically. But
remember, like Gemini, you can be a little superficial
about your approach to learning. You may end up knowing a
little about a large number of things, rather than being a
really through student in one area. Nothing wrong with
that, if it satisfies you. But it is not the kind of
attitude that makes passing examinations easy. So it you
are after some additional degrees or qualifications, you
may have to teach yourself to concentrate! |
